These tiny pouches near a cat’s anus, often called “anal glands,” serve as feline calling cards. They release a pungent fluid that marks territory. However, when these sacs get inflamed or infected, it’s no purr-fect situation. Cats may scoot, lick excessively, or even develop painful abscesses.
